Larkmead school’s annual ‘Making a Difference’ (MAD) Week takes place every July and offers Year 12 students (6th formers in old money!) a chance to work on a project with a local charity, group or not for profit organisation.

On the 1st of April, Larkmead held a MAD marketplace event giving their students a chance to meet local organisations and hear more about the projects they had on offer.

Our Workshop Coordinator, Taz, was there on the day to represent TrinityLearning.

“Last Friday I had the pleasure of talking to students at Larkmead school. The library was buzzing with enthusiastic 6th formers all learning about the many different charities in Abingdon and Oxford.

TrintiyLearning’s project offer was our Toolkit for Happiness Workshops which focus on improving children’s feelings of well-being. Students who come to work with us during MAD week in July will receive training to enable them to deliver the workshops to the current year 7 pupils at Larkmead school.

I had plenty of time to talk with students about the five different Toolkit for Happiness workshops; nature, physical exercise, acts of kindness, creativity, relaxation and reflection. They were full of smiles when they saw that one activity involved loom bands!

It was great to see so many students enthusiastic about our Toolkit for Happiness and we’re looking forward to working with them in July.”
