TrinityLearning’s Experience Easter is going ahead in 2021. Sadly, we won’t be able to welcome children to Trinity Church, but we will offer a safe and virtual alternative through videos sharing the Easter story and reflective activities on our website, and through resource packs sent out to schools.
Experience Easter is a series of reflective workshops, specially developed by TrinityLearning to allow Key Stage 2 children (7 to 11-year-olds) to access the Easter Story in a meaningful way that relates to their lives. It is also an introduction to mindfulness, using stilling exercises and simple activities to allow the children to consider the emotions involved in Holy Week:
- Palm Sunday – Hopes and dreams
- Maundy Thursday – Serving others
- The Last Supper – Remembering good things
- The Garden of Gethsemane – Fear
- Good Friday – Suffering
- Easter Day – Life after death
Over 3,000 children and 500 adults have enjoyed Experience Easter with us since we first began the workshops in 2010. As well as school children, the workshops have also been used by Beavers and Scouts, teamed with Abingdon Gospel Choir to make a musical evening , and have become parts of church services. Teachers have also used the workshop scripts for classroom R.E. and as whole-school events.
