We are in the middle of our annual two-week Experience Easter event, and this year is proving to be a super busy one.
Many schools are bringing more than one class this year to the sessions at Trinity Church, while others are taking part online through our videos. In total seven schools will be bringing 271 children to church sessions and around 267 children from three schools will be taking part in their classrooms through our website. A record-breaking total of 538 for Experience Easter attendance!
We’ve been particularly excited about the involvement of one school, located some distance from Abingdon, who brought 20 children on the service bus to our live Experience Easter so that they could then return to school and deliver the workshops to another 88 children in their school.
Bringing the Easter Story to Life Through Hands-On Learning

Through activities like bead threading, hand washing, and making plasticine models, children are able to explore the Easter story in a hands-on way. These interactive moments help bring the story to life and allow children to engage with it in a fun and meaningful way.
Teacher feedback from the first week of the event has been extremely positive and is really valuable for ensuring we are on the right track:
“The activities were really engaging and thought-provoking, allowing the children to reflect on each part of the story.”
“A really peaceful experience. All of the children were able to access it and were engaged at all times. All leaders and volunteers were brilliant. It was pitched at the right level too. Thank you.”

As always, our volunteers have been amazing. In the run-up to the event they helped prepare resources for hundreds of activity packs for the children – including rolling plasticine and threading beads and making up the packs. They have also helped us to prepare the church and make and set up the beautiful tomb and during the sessions they’ve been supporting as fantastic storytellers and helpers.
We look forward to sharing a full round-up once the event finishes!
