We were delighted to welcome volunteers and supporters to our 2025 AGM which we held online last month. The AGM covered the work TrinityLearining carried out between September 2023 to August 2024.

Nicola Williams our Education Development Officer and Katie Doney, our Chair explained it had been a productive year for TrinityLearning with new and ongoing projects. One of our favourite projects was the Kingfisher School Sensory Christmas Service which was a joy and ran a total of five times to pupils from 11 different classes both in church and in the school.

Our Experience Easter project was one of the busiest we have ever run, reaching over
500 children. It took place in Trinity Church as well as online in school classrooms. Thinking Books continued to support many local primary school children and during Larkmead School’s MAD week we worked with 17 6th formers who then went on to deliver Toolkit for Happiness training to around 180 Year 7s.

We also supported work experience students and completed our Family Change Packs – designed for adults working with children affected by divorce or separation.

Staying relevant in a changing education environment

Nicola explained that TrinityLearning has worked closely with schools for many years and one of the reasons schools continue to work with us is because of our commitment to safeguarding and safer recruitment. Any volunteer who works in contact with children must take part in our regular safeguarding training.

When TrinityLearning volunteers go into schools they go with a letter of assurance that they have up-to-date training and that we have followed safer recruitment. Schools request this and we are very happy that we can provide this as it ensures school communities have confidence and trust in the projects we run and the volunteers who support us.

We realise this can sometimes be a big ask for volunteers – filling in forms and taking part in training – and it might be a different approach to what volunteers who supported us in the past are used to – but it really is what makes our volunteers so valuable and trusted by schools.

Thank you to our volunteers

Katie rounded off the AGM by thanking all of our many volunteers for all the support, time, ideas and experience they so generously and kindly share with us.
